Response to reading (1 page minimum). Do you agree that we all have an Inner Savant? Do you think that technology will eventually help us all tap into this amazing potential in our own brains? If so, how will we do it? If not, what factors do you believe will prevent this from happening?
A savant is someone who shows extraordinary skills in one particular situation. Savants are often viewed as nonhuman as they possess skills that a normal human being does not. But, in the coming future, is it possible that humans can tap into this part of the brain that makes savants the way they are and be able to make anyone have a “superpower” of their choosing? Maybe some day, but as of right now and any time soon, no. Although technology is growing every day, becoming more and more complex, we are still a far way off from knowing how to make someone become like a savant.
ReplyDeleteEventually, technology will be able to do this though. Just not anytime soon. Eventually, everyone will be able to tap into the “Inner Savant” we have inside of us all. As of right now, almost all savants are linked to autism and focus on one specific thing. Like, for example, Nadia, an autistic savant, never talked or did anything until 31.5 weeks old when she randomly picked up a pencil and drew a horse that could only be rivaled by an adult that has drawn their entire lifes.
I believe that in time, everyone will be able to tap into their inner savant and become what they want to be. It's all a waiting game. Waiting for the technology to get there can take a long time. So, in the meantime, just do what you love and you never know, maybe one day you'll be better at that thing then you would've been if you had tapped into the savant part of you.
