After reading both sides to the story on the idea of secession I feel, in my honest opinion that to succeed Vermont from the United States and have it run as its own Democracy would be a foolish and idiotic thing to do. There are so many logical and scientifical reasons as to why one state should not succeed. The first reason being that if one state wants to part other states may try to do the same thing. A second reason is because if states like California and Texas would be able to thrive one there own without the help of their brother states. Which could affect the other states greatly because they wouldn’t be getting what they needed. A third and final reason would be because you would need a passport every time to enter that “Democracy”. Succession of one state would literally cause war between the people and the government. ~ Austin Bourn
