EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITY! Due no later than Friday, April 4, 2014

I am offering all sociology students an opportunity to earn extra credit points toward their 3rd marking period grade by finding articles of sociological importance/interest, that can be used for class discussion, and posting them to our classes' Twitter account.  You will receive 10 bonus points for each tweet, with a limit of 3 tweets per student (for a total of 30 bonus points).  You may not duplicate another student's article.  To help me keep things organized and searchable, please label your tweets with the following hashtags:

 #brucediscussionquestions #sociology


How do I sign up?

Twitter is a free site---all you need is access to a computer or smart phone. To sign up for an account:
If you don't have a Twitter account, it's easy to sign up and create one.  Follow the instructions below. Even if you already tweet, you may want to make another account for this class.  It's up to you if you want to follow the class site (@BruceAlmightey) with your existing personal account or not.
  1. Go to www.twitter.com
  1. Click the big green “sign-up now” button
  1. Insert your name and email address to create your account
  1. Once you get to your account main page, you can go to the “settings” button and make your account private, that is only those who have approved access (those you invite) can see what you are saying or  you can choose to leave it public.

If you want to participate in this extra credit assignment, you need to email me (mbruce@arsu.org) with your username and the email address that you signed up on Twitter with.  I will compile them and then publish a list of everyone who is involved in the extra credit assignment so we can all follow each other’s Twitter pages.
